Operator first
Abdullah began as a field engineer at Schlumberger, moving from trainee to Field Engineer 2 in two years across field execution and in-house design work. He then co-founded The Stack, a restaurant in Kuwait — which is where the delivery problem that became Carriage first presented itself, from the receiving end.
Carriage and Delivery Hero
He co-founded Carriage in 2016 and ran it as CEO through launch, expansion into six countries and its acquisition by Delivery Hero SE fourteen months after founding. He was elected to Delivery Hero’s Global Leadership Council, the group’s strategy body, and later served as Chairman of Carriage.
Builder
In 2019 he co-founded The Taken Seat with his brother Musab. He is Founder and CEO of Rent Your Machine / Reem Equipment Rental, and took operating roles in Ahlan Hamad and Cari as each was started.
Recognition and education
Named to Forbes Middle East’s Top Kuwaiti Entrepreneurs in 2023. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering, with coursework at Virginia Tech and Tennessee Tech.
