Carriage was founded in Kuwait in March 2016, with its apps live that May, running its own riders and its own dispatch — the expensive answer, and the one that made service something the company controlled rather than bought.
Delivery Hero SE (Frankfurt: DHER) announced the acquisition on 29 May 2017. The founders stayed: Abdullah Almutawa joined Delivery Hero’s Global Leadership Council and later served as Chairman of Carriage.
